Different Ways To Solve Acne Problems
Puberty has long been gone, but why do you still have acne? If you’re over the age of 25 and you still have pimples, zits, blackheads, and others, then don’t puberty is not the culprit anymore. Getting rid of your acnes isn’t as easy as sounds. You might want to keep it from happening first, which will require full commitment on your part.
To start with, you need to get a healthy lifestyle. Clear out the toxins from your body by eating non-fatty foods, avoiding alcoholic and caffeinated drinks, and drinking a lot of water. Also, try to adapt a regular exercise schedule and avoid stress. Smoking also clogs our pores and adds toxins in our body, so that should be one of the list of things you should avoid doing. And of course, apply proper hygiene.
Those preventive steps may help keep the acnes from adorning your face and body, but what if you already have them?
You can try topical creams and gels, but they only eradicate the problem temporarily. Not that they’re useless, as a matter of fact, most acne dries out quickly with over-the-counter products. Medicines that contain benzoyl peroxide or salicylic acid may be applied to mild to moderate types of acne. You can also hear other people trusting natural remedies. Honey, oatmeal, ginger, and even ice are said to heal acnes.
However, if you have serious acne case, topical products are not enough.
Severe acne cases should be treated internally. As topical creams or gels can’t kill the root of the problem. Oral antibiotics may help those who suffer from severe acne problems. But oral medicines, such as those containing erythromycin or any of the tetracycline antibiotics, may have side effects. Check with a dermatologist before taking any oral medicines.
For some girls, acnes are a monthly thing. Everytime their menstrual cycle is about to start, women’s hormonal level changes, causing oil secretion of the glands. There are those who find taking oral contraceptives helpful in eliminating their acnes.
Clearing out acnes has no perfect solution. What works for others may not work for some. But whatever measure you opt, taking a healthy lifestyle won’t hurt.
