Laser Hair Removal Is A Lasting Answer
Lots of people have hair growing where they wish it would not. Both men and women seek out dermatologists and plastic surgeons for help. For over one hundred years-since the late 19th century in fact-the only proven method of permanent hair removal was electrolysis. Electrolysis was not seriously challenged until laser hair removal, or photoepilation, came on the scene in the 1990′s. Hailed as the most advanced technology, laser hair removal is undoubtedly popular, but has modern laser technology really become the end all and be all when it comes to hair removal or is electrolysis still a contender?
Alternatives to laser hair removal include shaving (repetitive but effective and cheap in the short run), electrolysis, or the use of an epilator. Electrolysis is the more painful of the latter options, and can cause damage to sensitive skin. It is also a long procedure which works better for small areas like the upper lip or the eyebrows. Eventually, with electrolysis, the hair grows back. An epilator is less painful and has the advantage of being portable. Women often use an epilator on more sensitive skin.
Laser hair removal is a more long lasting answer than any of the above. In laser hair removal, the hair follicle absorbs more and more laser light energy, eventually destroying the follicle and removing the hair. Laser hair removal is more effective than electrolysis in taking the hair off large areas of the body, such as a man’s back. It is perfect for small areas as well.
Clearly, there are differences to think about when weighing electrolysis and laser hair removal. The price tag, the size of the area you would like to tackle, the tone of your skin, and the result you want should all contribute to your decision. The fact is, after more than a century, the most permanent, reliable hair removal still comes from electrolysis
Laser hair removal can be an excellent choice for many men and women who are perpetually bothered by hair in inconvenient areas. It is usually a very affordable solution.
