Chicago Laser Hair Removal to Eliminate That Unwanted Leg Hair!

by Joyce Pendelthumb

If you are like the majority of women in the world, you will spend a significant amount of time grooming. The legs are a prime target of all this attention. Women use all manner of methods to keep their legs hair free and silky smooth.

Do you want “silky” to die for legs that it seems like only super models and the stars actually have? Did you know there is a method that gives you hair free soft legs for several weeks or even months? If the process is repeated often enough you may never have to shave your legs again! Step up, learn about laser hair removal, and find the freedom you have been dreaming of.

Dermatologists have been performing laser hair removal procedures for quite some time. The first tests were completed around 1970 and by 1990, the procedure was introduced for commercial use. It was not long before laser hair removal was the most common procedure for hair removal.

Important Information

Laser hair removal has had plenty of time to develop and it is a perfect solution for many people. That being said there are some important facts you should consider before looking into a dermatologist.

Technology has come a long way over the years, and the lasers are constantly improving, yet the best results occur with dark coarse hair on lighter skin. You see, in laser hair removal, a strong light is focused on the hair follicle, it will pass through the light skin and only do damage when it encounters the dark melanin that is responsible for the hairs color. The laser then damages the hair follicle leaving you hair free for several weeks to even months.

The first thing to do is check around for someone who has verifiable experience in laser procedures. Ideally, this will be a board certified physician with education regarding the latest laser treatments. It is not unusual for a nurse or assistant to do a treatment provided the trained professional remains with you through the treatment.

As with any type of procedure, there are risks associated with laser treatments. You may find that the hair is only partially removed or re-growth occurs at the same rate. You could also experience a change in skin tone around the area, sometimes darker, sometimes lighters. Rarely this skin lightening will be a long term or permanent occurrence.

Expectations

The first thing that should occur is a meeting between you and the dermatologist to assess your needs and wants. They should be very frank with you about what you can expect and explain that laser hair removal is not a onetime deal. If you are looking for permanent hair reduction, you can expect many treatments over the course of a year to accomplish this goal.

Compared to many other hair removal options such as waxing, shaving or creams laser hair removal is way out in front. All of the above are temporary fixes for hair removal that do not hold a candle to laser treatments. You can reasonably expect weeks or even months of little or no hair growth after laser treatments. This is much more than can be expected with other treatments.

A Guide to Denver Laser Hair Removal

Laser hair removal is the most revolutionary technique used to eliminate hair from the entire body, permanently. Both men and women have been dealing with unwanted hair all over the body, and removing it has been a constant battle because no treatment was perfect.

All beauticians approve waxing because it pulls the hairs from their roots, but it is also extremely painful. Many times it can leave the skin irritated and red or bruised for days, especially in the sensitive areas such as the bikini zone and the underarms.

Shaving of the unwanted hair is yet another very common procedure that is cheap, fast, inexpensive, and can be done when you wish for an instant smooth skin. But the down side of shaving is that it irritates the skin and stimulates hair growth, which means in a few days time you will have thicker, harsher hairs to remove. Lasers have changed the way people approach hair removal because it does not hurt and the best part, it is permanent.

Looking for Denver Laser Hair Removal Clinics

To find a suitable Denver laser hair removal clinic you will need to do a little research. You can start by asking your hair stylist or beautician, if you have one for any recommendations, as they will never risk their reputation and send you to an unprofessional practitioner, and you may also get some discounts in the process.

If, however, you don’t have a hair dresser or anyone else cannot recommend a Denver laser hair removal clinic that they have used, you will need to look in the local newspapers and/or yellow pages to locate the ones closest to you and start to check their credentials. Laser hair removal has become very popular because of its obvious benefits. Many people have opened laser hair removal places, but don’t have the right person to carry out the services, and their credentials should tell you that.

If you cannot find any credentials of the said Denver laser hair removal clinic then you must try and visit it to check it out for yourself and see if they use the right equipment, in what shape the clinic is kept, and the knowledge of the staff performing the laser hair removal treatment. Talk to the beautician who will be performing the laser hair removal treatment and you will be able to judge for yourself if this is the Denver laser hair removal clinic that you want to use or not.

Helpful Tip

Laser hair removal will consist of a few sessions depending on the area you will be treating, and each session can cost as much as $500. Therefore, be very selective when choosing a laser hair removal clinic in order to get successful results, and never have to worry again about removing hair.

Leg Hair Removal Options Available in Chicago and Other Places

by Joyce Pendelthumb

Most women will spend a large amount of time each week in an age-old custom. Removing the hair from their legs is a part of everyday life for many women. Ladies will try just about anything to have smooth hair free legs, from waxes and depilatory creams to tweezing.

What if there was a better way to achieve those smooth legs that every woman dreams of? Is there really a method that can leave your legs soft and silky for months at a time, maybe even permanently? Actually, there is and it is called laser hair removal.

Laser hair removal has been an accepted practice in the dermatology profession for more than 20 years. Initial testing of lasers for hair removal began in the 70s and was finally commercially available in the early 90s. Now it is one of the most commonly used hair removal practices in the nation.

What to Know

The long road from discovery to use is good news for consumers and makes this a safe treatment for unwanted leg hair. Nevertheless, before you run out to find a practitioner there are a few things you should be aware of.

The process has been improved over the years, but the best results still come when used on dark hair and light skin. This is because the laser process is actually an intense light that passes through the skin until it hits melanin, the dark pigment responsible for hair color. The laser hits the dark color with intense heat, which damages the hair follicle and inhibits hair growth, while not affecting the lighter skin around the area.

You want to choose someone who is experienced in the area of laser hair removal. They should be a board certified dermatologist who has been trained to perform laser treatments. Many times a nurse or assistant will perform these treatments and in this case, the physician should be present at all times throughout the procedure.

What to Expect

The first thing that should occur is a meeting between you and the dermatologist to assess your needs and wants. They should be very frank with you about what you can expect and explain that laser hair removal is not a onetime deal. If you are looking for permanent hair reduction, you can expect many treatments over the course of a year to accomplish this goal.

When you compare laser hair removal for the legs to the many other temporary fixes such as shaving, waxing and depilatory creams it is easy to see which comes out on top. Even when the hair removal is not permanent, you can reasonably expect weeks, months and even years of hair free living. What could possibly be better than that?

Chicago Laser Hair Removal to the Rescue… No More Facial Hair

by Joyce Pendelthumb

Facial hair for a woman can be an embarrassing and frustrating situation. The reason women grow facial hair are many including excessive hormones like dihydrotestosterone. Undiagnosed medical ailments can also be a culprit, things like diabetes, insulin resistance, obesity or a simple family characteristic can all play their part in the production of facial hair in women. Regardless of the cause, there is one thing a woman with facial hair wants more than anything else, to be rid of it!

Plucking

The most immediate remedy for unwanted facial hair is a good pair of tweezers. With these little wonders, you can pluck your way to a hair free face in no time. The hairs are completely removed all the way to the root leaving you hair free for quite some time. If you only have a hair or two to remove this is a viable option, but what about a chin full? The time it would take to pluck them all is simply unreasonable not to mention the irritation to the skin.

Chemical

There are several different chemicals on the market today for hair removal. The problem is few of them are for the face and the ones that are the most effective are only available with a prescription. Beyond those two issues are skin irritation due to allergic reaction, it is hard to determine which is worse facial hair or the red bumps left behind by some chemicals.

Razors

Shaving is often a treatment left for emergency situations when a woman has no time to pluck or use creams. It is a quick fix that requires no physician approval or tedious plucking. Of course, that is not to say shaving is anywhere close to an ideal fix. Razor burn, stubble and ingrown hairs are all possibilities. Moreover, you will likely have to shave many times a week or even every day. This is definitely not, what you would consider a fix for the situation.

Laser Treatment

Before laser treatment became available in the early 90s it was tested for nearly two decades. Quickly after being released, the practice became popular among clients and dermatologists alike. Studies and articles have been written over the years and published in various literature’s, the first coming from Massachusetts General Hospital.

Selective photothermolysis, SPTL, is the process of laser hair removal. You see a strong beam of light passes harmlessly through the skin seeking out the melanin, which gives hair its color. When it finds the melanin at the root of the hair the follicle is then heated, damaging it and slowing the return growth of hair.

A good many women are under the impression that the first treatment will equal a lifetime result. However, this is generally not the case, though the treatment can last a long time; complete hair removal will take more than one treatment. In fact, it is quite possible to need several laser treatments over a specified period to achieve complete hair free status.

Laser hair removal is an excellent way to battle unsightly hair on the chin, upper lip and ear lobe. The only place lasers cannot be used is in the nostrils, inner ears or eyes; however, it is applicable for most other areas of the face. This treatment is also usable for legs, armpits and various other locations where unwanted hair is present.

When you consider the temporary and painful nature of the other methods, it is easy to see why laser hair removal has become so popular. You can reasonably expect to be hair free for weeks and months at least with even one laser treatment. If you continue treatment long enough you will eventually find yourself completely hair free for a very long time.
